In a heart-wrenching event from Maine, a three-year-old boy was discovered lifeless in the snow, bringing great sorrow to his family.
The disappearance was reported over the weekend, and soon after, the sad discovery was made.
Authorities, including the Maine State Police, began investigating as the young boy’s body was found near Exeter Road in Corinna on a Sunday.
A family member, grief-stricken, reached out to PEOPLE magazine revealing the boy as her nephew. She, along with the child’s father, had contacted emergency services in the early morning hours.
Unfortunately, despite their swift actions and urgent requests for help, they were unable to save the little one. He was found close to the family home, tragically succumbed to the freezing conditions.
When emergency services arrived, they confirmed his death attributed to the hypothermic conditions. There were no signs of harm or mistreatment, according to State Police investigations.
