The supermodel shared a Dolly Parton quote in the social media post while posing with 25-year-old Sailor
Christie Brinkley is hitting the road with her “twin” daughter by her side!
On Saturday, June 29, the 70-year-old supermodel and entrepreneur shared a wholesome snap from the front seat of her car on Instagram — as she posed with her younger daughter, Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook.
The mother-daughter pic further emphasized the striking resemblance between the duo, as they matched in white and cream sweaters and with their blonde hair. Christie rocked a white cowboy hat to complete her look.
Christie captioned the photo with a Dolly Parton quote: “Don’t be a lady, be a legend.”
While Christie quoted the music icon on Instagram, Sailor, 25, recently reflected on the lessons she’s learned from her famous mother while sharing some details about her work in the latest Silk Nextmilk campaign.
“Her biggest advice when it comes to being on a set would be just to be as gracious as you can. I always try and introduce myself to everyone in the room. And I always try and acknowledge everyone in the room,” the model and activist said in February. “Because I mean, my job is almost pretty much the easiest.”
“That’s what she taught me, is to really acknowledge my surroundings while I’m in it and not be a diva and have fun with the creatives that I’m working with,” she added.
Christie shares Sailor with architect Peter Cook. She’s also mom to Alexa Ray Joel, 38, and son Jack Paris Brinkley-Cook, 29.
Months before her chat about the Silk campaign, Sailor said that she’s noticing more and more that her personal style is right in line with how her mom dresses.
“Both of us are pretty classic,” she said. “We love a white T-shirt. We love a good pair of jeans. We love a trench coat, good sweater, a good pair of white sneakers, black boots.”
“Sometimes I’ll ask to borrow something, and I’ll be like, ‘Oh my God, this is so cute,’ and she’ll tell me, ‘Okay, but you have to give it back.’ And then she forgets!” Sailor joked.
Back in May, Christie shared a pic in honor of a recent Mother’s Day celebration, when all of her adult children swung by for some homemade pizza and family bonding. “There’s no place like… H ME‼️❤️❤️❤️,” she captioned the Instagram post. “My babies all came home for #mothersday and made a ‘Build your own Pizza’ lunch! Fun!”
