Iconic actress, Gal Gadot, recently opened up about a terrifying experience she faced concerning her health.
During her pregnancy, she encountered a critical medical situation that required immediate attention.
Just before welcoming her baby, doctors identified a significant blood clot in her brain. She took to Instagram to share how, nearing the end of her pregnancy, she received the news that shook her to the core.
Throughout this time, she experienced severe headaches but never imagined that such a serious condition was the underlying cause.
The MRI results revealed a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), a rare type of blood clot that forms in the brain’s external veins. This condition poses a severe risk as it can lead to a stroke by blocking blood flow to the brain, resulting in a lack of oxygen.
In a race against time, Gadot was swiftly taken to a nearby emergency facility to have the blood clot treated before she delivered her fourth child.
Although such an event was unexpected for her, this form of clot is notably one of the more common and deadly types seen in pregnant women, as she mentioned.
Healthcare professionals highlight that this condition impacts approximately one in 2,500 people annually in the United States. Now, Gadot is using her platform to increase awareness, encouraging everyone to prioritize their health and be vigilant for symptoms that may indicate a blood clot.
