New President Elect Donald Trump Will Be Sentenced In ‘Hush Money Case’ On January 10 Before His Inauguration

It’s been confirmed that the newly elected president, Donald Trump, will face sentencing for the well-publicized hush money case, which involves Stormy Daniels. This is scheduled to happen just a few days before he steps into office as the nation’s leader.

Justice Juan Merchan has announced that Trump’s sentencing will take place on January 10. This comes after Trump’s attempt to have the case dismissed was denied.

The sentencing will be held in New York, and the option for Trump to attend in person or virtually is available, as revealed in the announcement.

This unexpected development unfolded on a Friday afternoon, creating quite a stir when Trump’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit and nullify the guilty verdict against him was rejected.

Further information indicates that Trump is unlikely to face imprisonment. The judge plans to offer an ‘unconditional discharge.’

Essentially, this means Trump won’t need to pay any penalties or complete any probation period. Initially, he was looking at up to four years in prison, but this scenario seems to be ruled out for now.

Judge Merchan pointed out that the logical path forward is to finalize matters and allow Trump the opportunity to pursue an appeal.

Back in May, a jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records. This was related to a significant $130,000 payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their alleged affair before the 2016 presidential election, which supposedly occurred 18 years earlier.
