New President Elect Donald Trump Will Be Sentenced In ‘Hush Money Case’ On January 10 Before His Inauguration

It has been revealed that the newly elected president, Donald Trump, is set to appear in court for sentencing related to the highly publicized hush money case with Stormy Daniels. This event is scheduled to occur just a few days before his inauguration as President of the United States.

Justice Juan Merchan has confirmed that Trump’s sentencing is slated for January 10. This follows a recent decision where Trump’s request to have the case dismissed was rejected by the court.

The sentencing will take place in New York and could be conducted in person or via a virtual platform. This unexpected development took many by surprise after Trump’s motion to overturn the verdict against him was rebuffed.

While some feared a harsh penalty, it’s unlikely that Trump will serve any jail time. The judge is considering an ‘unconditional discharge,’ meaning Trump would not face fines or probation. Initially, the charges could have led to a jail sentence of up to four years, but this now seems improbable.

Justice Merchan has indicated that the best approach would be to finalize the matter while allowing Trump the opportunity to proceed with any appeals.

Back in May, a jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts related to falsifying business records. This was part of an effort to conceal a significant $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. The payment was meant to ensure her silence about an alleged affair ahead of the 2016 presidential election, despite the affair having occurred 18 years earlier.
