Ukraine’s President Zelensky is quite unsettled these days. His concern stems from a peace deal about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine that was negotiated behind closed doors. The noteworthy part is President Zelensky himself was involved in these discussions.
This scenario has particularly ruffled the Ukrainian leader. He has openly criticized President Trump, accusing him of misleading both Ukraine and the European Union. Zelensky went as far as calling Trump a traitor, suggesting that the former US President is aiding Russia in the current strife against Ukraine.

President Zelensky did not hold back. He stressed that it was time for Trump to reveal the truth about his actions. He urged him to break away from what he claims is a cloud of Russian disinformation filled with falsehoods and propaganda.
The comments were spurred by recent remarks from Trump. The former President had criticized Zelensky by labeling him a dictator, claiming that he holds power without democratic elections.

In addition, Trump weighed in on Zelensky’s popularity, calling into question his approval ratings and advocating for new elections in Ukraine. As if that weren’t enough, Trump placed blame on Ukraine for being the aggressor in the conflict. Contrastingly, he praised Russia and President Putin for engaging in historic talks about peace in Saudi Arabia.
Clearly, there’s a significant rift between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States, a gap that seems to be widening. Rebuilding trust between these nations and their leaders will require significant effort, as tensions are escalating at an unprecedented rate.
