Earlier this year, Donald Trump made history by becoming the oldest person to be inaugurated as President of the United States. Now at the age of 79, Trump’s age has become a topic of conversation, but he confidently asserts that he is in good health.

While Trump maintains that he’s in peak condition, certain visible signs, like the appearance of a ‘wrinkled’ hand, have captured the public’s attention. Experts suggest these could be indicative of underlying issues.
Despite being 79, Donald Trump is reportedly in good shape physically, according to his team. In April, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella released a report affirming that Trump is fit to fulfill his role as Commander-in-Chief.
The medical report included evaluations of Trump’s height, weight, and various health scans, including his heart, which showed no abnormalities. Trump also underwent a colonoscopy in 2024, where a benign polyp and diverticulitis were discovered.
Further medical evaluations concluded that Trump is taking medication for cholesterol and cardiac prevention, as well as cream for a skin condition.
Donald Trump’s Mysterious Hand Bruises
The report additionally mentioned Trump’s successful bilateral cataract surgeries, highlighting his “robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical health.” Dr. Barbabella praised Trump’s “active lifestyle,” emphasizing its benefits to his well-being.
However, despite a clean bill of health in the report, Trump’s age-related changes are evident, with recent images surfacing of bruises on his hands.
Reports of bruising first emerged when Trump attended his court appearance for the hush money trial against Stormy Daniels. Additional sightings of these marks occurred during events, such as a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The White House asserts that the bruises and wrinkles are unrelated to health issues. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained they result from Trump’s frequent handshaking.
Donald Trump Shows Off ‘Wrinkled Hands’ Before Kennedy Center Event
Leavitt reiterated that Trump’s hand bruises are due to ongoing interactions with the public. Trump confirmed this in a Time Magazine interview, attributing the bruises to countless handshakes.
Nonetheless, Trump’s ‘wrinkled hands’ gained renewed attention on social media prior to the Kennedy Center premiere of Les Misérables in June.
Dr. Ola Otulana, a general practitioner from Watford, England, opined that the hand bruising likely stemmed from “superficial contusion” due to minor trauma or blood draw.
Dr. Otulana explained that in older adults, “thinning skin” and “fragile blood vessels” make such bruising more noticeable.
No Immediate Red Flags for Trump’s Health
The doctor also noted that blood thinners, aspirin, and other medications could exacerbate bruising, prolonging visibility.
Despite this, Dr. Otulana concluded the bruising doesn’t signify immediate health concerns.
The focal point on Trump’s health persisted when images of him at a UFC event circulated online, sparking speculation about whether he wore a catheter under his suit.
These images led to discussions on social media, where users speculated about visible lines suggesting a catheter, but others dismissed this notion.
Some argued against the catheter theory, attributing the visible lines to pant creasing, asserting that catheters are not standard, save for post-surgical care.
In light of these discussions, what are your thoughts on Donald Trump’s presidency? How do you evaluate his performance as President? Feel free to share your opinions with others!
