The well-known Bishop Mariann Budde, who caught the public’s attention with her political remarks during the inauguration of Donald Trump, is reaching out with a heartfelt message to the American people. She is calling for a shift in the national dialogue to more constructively address the issues that America is facing today.
In a recent conversation, Budde expressed her dismay over receiving death threats for simply expressing what she believes is a sincere and respectful point of view towards the President of the United States.

She recently addressed the unwelcome backlash during an interview on MSNBC, discussing the strong reactions that followed her speech at the National Prayer Service. Bishop Budde was taken aback by the intensity of negativity she received.

“I’ve had individuals wish for my death and others suggest I should be deported,” Budde shared, visibly troubled by the animosity she has encountered. She is perplexed by the source of such hatred and negativity.

Budde found the response from numerous pro-Trump supporters to be startling, especially as it pertains to tackling significant and controversial issues. Her intention, she insists, was simply to advocate for a conversation grounded in peace and unity. However, it seems to have sparked a different reaction entirely.
“What I was aiming for was to promote a different type of conversation. You absolutely have the right to disagree with me, but it should be done respectfully,” she emphasized, speaking calmly yet firmly.
