In a significant move, Elon Musk has opted to settle a major lawsuit involving former President Trump, with a substantial payout of $10 million. The lawsuit was linked to the actions taken by X, Musk’s company, along with its previous CEO.
This decision by Musk aims to resolve the matter fully, especially as his connection to Trump grows stronger. It has made X the second social media platform to reach a settlement with Trump over the suspension of his accounts following the events of January 6th at the US Capitol.

Just last month, we witnessed Meta Platforms agreeing to fork out nearly $25 million to settle a similar legal dispute with Trump. Trump’s legal team had filed lawsuits against various social media giants, including X, Alphabet, and Facebook, seeking justice for what he perceived as a coordinated effort to suppress his conservative viewpoints.

Musk, who holds ownership of the prominent social media app, stated that it was crucial to resolve this issue rightly. Trump’s legal team is reportedly also pursuing settlements with Google, which terminated Trump’s presence on its platform following the Capitol Hill incident in 2021.
