During a sermon in Washington, an Episcopal Bishop took the opportunity to address President Donald Trump regarding his immigration and LGBT+ policies. The Bishop urged Trump to show mercy to all communities affected by these policies.
Rev. Mariann Budde emphasized the importance of considering the diverse communities across the nation, including gay, lesbian, and transgender youth from both major political parties. She pointed out that these individuals, along with other minority groups, look to Trump for leadership and seek nothing but calm and prosperity within the United States.
The sermon seemed to take many by surprise, including those sitting right in the front rows. Notably, the President, First Lady Melania Trump, their children, and even the Vice President were stunned by the Bishop’s direct words. Their expressions were full of shock, perhaps taken aback by being publicly addressed in such a manner.
The Bishop also reminded Trump that he should be grateful for being spared from potential harm, expressing that his continued safety was thanks to divine intervention. She implored him to be conscientious in his actions, stressing that as the President, he must answer for his decisions.
