The Azerbaijan Airlines flight carried 67 passengers and a crew of five, journeying from Azerbaijan’s bustling capital of Baku to Grozny in Russia. Tragically, the flight ended in calamity.
As the plane struck the ground and burst into flames, thick plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky. Amongst the wreckage, dazed and injured passengers were seen navigating their way to safety from the part of the fuselage that withstood the crash’s impact.

The emergency services ministry has been actively involved, addressing the blazing inferno and conducting rescue operations amid incredibly challenging conditions.
Current reports reveal that 14 people were immediately taken to a regional hospital following the crash, with five among them being admitted to the intensive care unit due to severe injuries.
In an update delivered by the ministry, a total of 28 survivors managed to emerge from the accident, albeit seven of them remain in critical condition. Among the 22 individuals who received medical attention at the hospital were two children, highlighting the tragedy’s far-reaching impact on families.
