Pink, Carey Hart Call It Quits Again After 20-Year Marriage: Insider

Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, have separated after 20 years of marriage, a source tells PEOPLE.

The “Trustfall” singer, 46, and the former professional motocross racer, 50, share two children: daughter Willow Sage, 14, and son Jameson Moon, 9.

The couple’s love story began at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia. After several years of dating on and off, Hart proposed in 2005, and they tied the knot in Costa Rica in January 2006.

Two years later, they announced their first separation. Despite the split, the pair remained on good terms — Hart even appeared in Pink’s “So What” music video, which drew inspiration from their breakup. By spring 2009, they had reconciled and called off their divorce

“We’re rebuilding,” Hart told at the time. “Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward.”

Over the years, Pink has been candid about the work behind their relationship. In 2021, she opened up about their ups and downs in a PEOPLE cover story, revealing that they sought both individual therapy and couples counseling to navigate challenges. That same year, she gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at their family life in her Prime Video documentary, All I Know So Far.

Pink — born Alecia Moore — is currently nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

“Long-term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and jump from relationship to relationship, because then you don’t have to fix the problems that keep recurring. You have to end up fixing yourself; you can’t fix the other person. So it can be challenging, and there’s good days and there’s bad days,” Pink told PEOPLE.

Pink continued, “I think it’s an impossible expectation for you to think that you’re going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what’s important. I don’t want to break up my family. That’s been my main goal, since I had a broken family. Sometimes you have to let it go. You can’t die on every mountain.”

In 2023, Pink again spoke to PEOPLE in a cover story about staying committed through difficult periods in her marriage to Carey Hart. She explained that both she and Hart are fiercely independent, which she believes has helped sustain their relationship over the years. Rather than relying on one another out of necessity, she said their bond has endured because they actively choose to be together, even though they are capable of standing fully on their own.
