Prince Harry Moans his Childhood Bedroom Inside Castle was ‘Less Luxurious’ than Brother William’s

Prince Harry has captured attention with his revealing memoir, “Spare,” sharing intimate and eye-opening revelations about his life.

The Duke of Sussex has laid bare the longstanding rivalry with his brother, William, shedding light on experiences that stretch back to their childhood. It’s an insight many are just starting to grasp.

In the pages of his book, Harry delves into numerous instances of sibling rivalries that date back years. Tensions and even physical altercations were commonplace, stemming from how their childhoods unfolded.

One particular memory stands out, as Harry recounts the differences in their rooms at Balmoral Castle, emphasizing the striking contrast between his modest quarters and William’s more luxurious setup.

Harry explains there were 50 bedrooms in the castle, yet William, being the elder, was granted initial choice, essentially giving him reign over half of the estate.

William’s accommodations featured a larger room, a double bed, and a spacious basin. He also had the luxury of mirrored cupboards and a breathtaking view that overlooked the courtyard fountain.

“My space was much smaller and far less lavish. I never questioned why. I didn’t really care, but I understood it was because he was William, and I was just Harry,” reflects the Prince.

Harry also touches upon the fundamental roles dictated by their birth order. Being two years older, William was the heir, while Harry was destined to be the “Spare.” The implications of these titles shaped much of their upbringing.
